Memory Lane
A dream bought me a one way ticket
a feel of yearning make me visit,
a place where sadness haven't found me
and my homestead was there to hug me.
I lay down my eyes over the yard,
smell my mother's apple pie
as I become superman.
Every night I pay the price
to see my baby sister crawling at my side,
my dog jumping around
and the eldest dancing funky sounds.
I made a trip down to memory lane;
climbing trees, riding horses
and mom picking up roses,
- what a way to shut down noises.
Able to be and not to see;
the past absorbed me
leaving me no choices,
but to pay a fee hidden by voices.
