Outlawed From Myself
Answers become rain
thick and grey.
Clouds look like a big city at night
a woman under the stars
calling my time
it's my way out.
Mr. Know-it-all,
temptation lingers in my core
give me a reason not to abort
a mission doomed to bomb.
Loneliness plays on loop
when I get closer to the root.
Words don't come easy anymore
I cherish what I don't have no more.
It's getting hard to see
lust numbs my capacity to be me,
turns green what I know to be wrong
sweetens the unknown,
makes you bristle and feel raw.
Inhaled devil's smoke
craved a place I was told no to go,
enchanted by a spell
I became an outlaw in this world.
Mr. Know-it-all,
will I be able to survive?
